Hourly Comics Day 2025
I did some sketches for Hourly Comics Day this year.
But why?! I'm not interested in becoming a comic artist. It certainly was not because I wanted to join in with the crowd. (In fact, that’s why I hesitated - I do so like to rebel.) Nah, I decided to try it this year because I thought it would be interesting to look at my day through a different lens. It was like having another perspective - thinking a whole other way about what I was experiencing. And I certainly noticed things I hadn’t before, not external things, but internal, specifically how much of my day I spend focused on myself.
I especially enjoyed mixing external reality with internal, physical with mental, and it all becoming wonderfully surreal.
I might actually bring these to a more finished stage eventually, but I keep getting whims that distract me. My mental list of “fun things I want to draw just for the sake of it” keeps growing, and my proper to-do list is getting no shorter.
